Sabrina Dépestre is a Haitian-American brand strategist, connector, and purveyor of good vibes. She shares stories and works on projects that amplify the good work of underrepresented people working in industries such as tech, fitness, and health. Currently, she serves as the Growth Executive and lead strategist for Backroom, a brand experience agency based in Baltimore.
She has spent her time connecting fitness influencers, movers & shakers in the Baltimore community with youth organizations, schools and sports teams working with ivivva, the girl’s line of lululemon. Her focus was to empower young girls through movement by creating events such as free yoga classes and dreams & goal-setting workshops, all while crafting marketing campaigns to keep them engaged on social media.
From 2006 - 2012, she worked with the Miami HEAT basketball team starting as an intern, and progressed to the group sales coordinator. In this role, she helped create and implement revenue generating ticket programs which were the blueprint for what other teams across the league used. In her six seasons with the HEAT, she hired, trained and managed just under 30 interns, ranked within the top 10 teams of group tickets sold and managed to leave as a champion with some new jewelry.
When she’s not meditating or practicing yoga, you can find her at a local coffee shop (most likely one that also serves wine), browsing a bookstore, or exploring all things Baltimore has to offer.
She serves as the Baltimore Chapter Ambassador for #SHE_BUILDS, a global initiative & community platform that exists to empower and connect Haitian women around the world; the co-creator of tan the mat, an initiative that connects Black and brown yogis around the world; and the strategist for Baltimore Young Professionals, a community that amplifies positive stories of residents of Baltimore.
A graduate of Florida International University (BBA, Marketing), she currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
